Intensive Spanish Courses for Exchange Students
The University of Oviedo participates extensively in university exchange programmes and provides such students with two intensive Spanish programmes aimed at facilitating their integration in the different faculties and schools at which they are following degree courses.
Two intensive courses are organised each year, one in the autumn and another in the spring. From the spring course in 2013 the number of hours will grow from 40 to 60 hours.
- 60-hour Intensive Programme (40 face-to-face hours and 20 hours of complementary cultural activities)
- 2 hours a day over 4 weeks
- Levels: Beginners (only in the Campus of "El Milán"), Intermediate and Advanced. Final certificate of attendance and progress.
- Classes are imparted in Oviedo (the campuses of "El Cristo" and "El Milán") and in Gijón (South Lecture Halls. Viesques Campus).
- 80% of attendance is obligatory to obtain the University of Oviedo Certificate.
Students in these programmes can enrol in the Spanish for Beginners Programme or in the subjects they wish to study in the Spanish Language and Culture Course for Foreign Students, paying a special, reduced fee.
The intensive programme classes are wholly financed by the University of Oviedo. International exchange students only have to pay the sum of €75 for the Autumn Intensive Programme or €75 for the Spring Intensive Programme as fees to cover enrolment and the issuing of the accrediting diploma. Those international exchange students staying here for the full academic year who also wish to follow the Spring Intensive Programme are to pay €200 instead. The rest of the foreign students at the University of Oviedo will pay 200€ in any case.
